St Benedict’s hosted the first Let’s Dance competition for Key Stage 1 children this week.

We were joined by dancers from local primary schools – St James’ Infants, Jericho, Valley, St Gregory and St Patrick’s, Bransty and Kells Infants.

The dancers were treated to a solo performance from Year 13 Performing Arts student Connie Dougan to open the show.

The Year 1 teams then strutted their stuff with improvised solos. The Year 2s then performed their choregraphed solos and then a group routine.

Our judging panel, made up of five fabulous 6th form students, decided that The Year 1 winners were Valley School and the Year 2 winners were Kells Infants.

Mrs Grealish from St Benedict’s who organised the event said: “Overall the children performed brilliantly and I can’t wait to see them dancing at St Benedict’s again soon.”
