This term, as part of our continuing careers development work, Year 10 & 11 students have taken part in Drop Down Days – these are special days organised to enhance the students learning.

Sessions this time ranged from talks by Sellafield, Hello Futures and BAE systems, alongside workshops covering subjects like Moneywise Workshops, Managing Time and Big Debate – Punishment.

Students found the day really interesting and feel like they learned alot! Mrs Kelso said:

“The drop-down days are a varied set of lessons, workshops, talks and activities that help prepare our students to be well informed, articulate young people prepared for independent living.”

“They develop qualities like resilience, critical thinking, responsibility make positive decisions, take individual responsibility for their physical and mental wellbeing; develop the personal and social skills required to succeed socially and in the world of work.”

“The pupils embrace the days and we appreciate the time that organisations give to help ensure the days are varied and successful.”
