Huge congratulations to two of our Year 10 students, Josh Coombe and Aiden Thompson, who have recently been successful in their application to the Positive Enterprise programme through the Centre for Leadership Performance.

Out of all the applicants only nine young people aged between 14 & 25 were selected. This makes Josh & Aiden some of the youngest to be awarded a place!

The project will support nine young people over the next six months, which includes a grant of £1,000 alongside coaching, mentoring and workshops from Centre for Leadership Performance Cumbria to help develop their enterprising ideas and themselves as leaders. They’ll also have the opportunity to learn from local entrepreneurs who’ve created successful initiatives.

Josh & Aiden will be working on their business ideas over the next six months. Aiden’s idea is to  repurpose litter into artwork and useful items and then sell them. Josh will be making customised clothing with peoples names on & song lyrics.  10% of all his profits go to Whitehaven Community Trust.

Aiden said:

“I am looking forward to the challenge and having the opportunity to develop my skills.”

We look forward to following their progress and seeing how their businesses perform over the next six months. Good Luck!
