Earlier this week, both our Year 7 & 8 Boys Rugby teams competed in their COUNTY CUP SEMI-FINALS, both against Dowdales School from Dalton in Furness.

Our Year 8 rugby squad were victorious against Dowdales School in their match.

It was a hard fought 12 – 8 victory on a very, very heavy field which sees our Year 8 squad through to the COUNTY CUP FINAL as well as entrance to the NATIONAL CUP Competition.

The lads were quite rightly delighted and put up a stern defensive effort against a well built Dowdales attack who were ranked Barrow seed 1 heading into the SEMI-FINAL.

Mr Harrison said:
“𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘰𝘧𝘧. 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴.”

The Year 7 squad gave it their best shot in the county semi final but came up against a well organised Dowdales defence. Dowdales securing a 26-6 victory. The lads are keen, will regroup and go again next time!
