Mrs Lee Completes Global Teacher Award

Congratulations to Mrs Lee who has recently completed the Global Teacher Award Level 1 – In association with the British Council and their CONNECTION CLASSROOMS through Global Learning programme.

Mrs Lee said:

“As a Geography Department, we are always looking for ways to enhance and develop the experience of students in the classroom. This course provided the opportunity for me to enrich teaching and learning across the department through the themes of the Sustainable Development Goals.”

This award provides accredited recognition of teachers’ practice. It will help us to continue to nurture informed, active global citizenship amongst pupils of all ages and abilities and enhance SMSC provision within St. Benedict’s Catholic High School.

The course content includes pre and post course activities introducing key concepts and supporting personal learning and reflection. Mrs Lee was required to both critique and implement changes to her own practice and curriculum and discuss this with peers within the Geography Team.

She said: “This is an opportunity for us to really embed global learning and ‘global thinking’ into the life of our school.”
