The summer term has seen another successful completion of fieldtrips for the Geography department.
Year 8 students spent a day at St. Bees examining coastal processes and the sea defences before spending time with the DT department along the shore.
Year 9 students spent a day examining whether tourists are well catered for in Silloth. We had typical west Cumbrian weather across the two days, which was invigorating.
Our year 10 GCSE students have also completed their two days in the field, which is a mandatory part of the EDEXCEL A specification. A rural investigation of the impact of tourism on Keswick and examining how far Gatesgarthdale Beck fits the Bradshaw model.
The students, as always, represented the school exceptionally well and we’re really proud of all the opportunities they have to explore geography outside the classroom.
Remember to look for the geography this summer #geographyiseverywhere
