FREE NHS Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience Opportunity (Years 10 – 12) Medic Mentor have just launched Allied Healthcare Mentor, to support all of your aspiring healthcare students with work experience opportunities during the pandemic. Students now have access to their own specific work experience programme that will be highly relevant to the following healthcare careers:

· Nursing · Midwifery · Paramedics · Physiotherapists · Occupational Therapists · Radiographers · Art, drama and music therapists · Dietitians · Operating Department Practitioners · Radiographers · Podiatrists · Osteopaths · Orthoptists · Prosthetists and orthotics · Speech and language therapists

NHS Healthcare Careers Virtual Work Experience – Allied Healthcare Mentor (alliedhealthmentor.org)

Students will receive certificates upon completion, but places are limited and therefore they will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis to keep this fair. If you are interested you can register through the website link above. Places are £10 a day to cover administrative costs. There are bursaries available.

11/01/21 13:00 – 14:00  Game Asset Pipeline: How to produce 3D assets for use in video games In this Masterclass you will gain a streamlined look at how to produce 3D assets for use in video game creation. This session will cover the modelling of an object, creating its textures, importing it into a game engine and making it ready for the end user to play.

Vodaphone Work Experience Programme

 Year 12 students are invited to apply for Vodafone’s Innovators Virtual Work Experience Programme. Vodafone UK, are a great British technology success story. They were the first company to make a mobile phone call in the UK and the first to introduce text messaging. Now they’re launching a virtual work experience programme for the next generation of technology innovators. Students will join Vodafone for a week-long virtual work experience programme during February half term where they’ll design their own ‘Internet of Things’ connected device! During the week students will attend (virtually) a series of live webinars, panel discussions, learning content, and team workshops. They learn about the variety of business areas involved in launching a new product including Technology, Digital, Marketing and Consumer. They’ll also access workshops to develop essential employability skills and careers awareness to set you up for success. The programme is completely free for students and they’ll receive a certificate for their CVs.

Insight into University Summer Schools (Year 11 -13)

Insight into University is a comprehensive on-line course allowing you to experience STEM studies at university and the career opportunities that these subjects lead to. It will provide access to information on university and student life, STEM projects and activities set by leading UK universities and global STEM companies, first year undergraduate lectures, live interactive sessions with academics, admissions tutors, employers and current students. Whether you are interested in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, physics, computer science, sustainability, aerospace, built environment or maths we have something for you with specially developed content and live sessions from universities including Cambridge, Lancaster, Sheffield, Bolton, Liverpool, Coventry, Kent, Edinburgh and companies such as BP and GSK, as well as many, many more. On successful completion of the course you will receive a Silver Industrial Cadets award and be in a position to make a more informed decision for your UCAS application. The course will run from mid-June to mid-August and can be completed flexibly to fit around other commitments and study at a pace that suits you. The course is open to all students age 16+ and it suitable for all academic abilities, with activities that cover different levels of advanced study. All that is required is a genuine interest in STEM subjects and inquisitiveness about what the future can hold for you and how you can help get yourself there.
