A group of Year 9 students, who have all taken engineering for KS4, recently took part in a special architecture event.
Students worked with two professional architects for the day. They were briefed on the challenge which was to design a beach hut. They then went to St Bees to complete a site survey and explore the area looking for suitable locations to build their huts.
When students returned to school they spent the afternoon designing and building models of their beach huts which they then presented to the rest of the group.
This was a great opportunity for the students, and they learned a lot from the day.
