A student from St Benedict’s Catholic High School is having an impressive season in her swimming career.
Erin Boyles recently won GOLD at the Junior Para Swimming Championships in Liverpool.
Erin, who is in Year 8 at St Benedict’s, broke all her personal bests at the event, and won five GOLD medals becoming the National Under-13 Para Champion.
Two weeks after this competition she went to Blackburn and swam in the open age North-West Regional Para Championships. Here she raced against some people who were twice her age. Erin won one Silver and four Bronze medals at this event.
Erin’s Dad, Mike Boyles said:
“We are very proud of what Erin has achieved. She has been swimming from the age of 7, and trains with Workington Swimming Club four times a week.”
Erin has a some more competitions coming up, including the English Nationals in Sheffield in August, and the National Para Championships again in Manchester in December, where she will be swimming against all the Para Olympians again.
Erin has also been selected to be on the first level of the England Talent Program later this year.
Mrs Bell, HLTA SEND & Literacy Intervention at St Benedict’s said:
“We are delighted that Erin has had a fantastic season swimming and enjoy looking at her medals when she brings them into school. She is a credit to the St Benedict’s and the Student Support department.”
