World Book Day 2017

Students and teachers have been celebrating World Book Day today with a variety of events and activities.

World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

Many of the teachers dressed up, and the students were tasked with guessing their book characters throughout the day.

There was also a Where’s Wally hunt during lunchtime, as well as a catwalk show of the dressed up teachers.

Our Year 7’s also took part in a mammoth Harry Potter Readathon, which included a quiz, the winners of which will be announced tomorrow. Students read aloud to their class, read independently and watched clips of the film throughout the day.

Well done to all involved!
