Talented student earns GCSE certificate 12 months early

We are very proud of one of our current Year 11 students, who was this week presented with her Spanish GCSE Certificate, a whole 12 months earlier than what is normally expected.

Sofia Savastano was in Year 10 when she sat the exam back in the summer of 2017. She was put forward for the exam early owing to her very obvious talents in the subject.

Aigars Arins, Head of Modern Foreign Languages at St Benedict’s, presented Sofia with the certificate earlier this week. He comments:

“The Modern Foreign Languages Department is delighted with Sofia’s outstanding GCSE achievement. She gained maximum UMS points in every exam component, which is a fantastic accomplishment.”

Sofia gained an A* in the subject, and will continue to study for the rest of her GCSE’s during 2017/2018.
