Students take part in Junior Maths Challenge

A talented group of sixty of our Year 7 & 8 students have today completed their ‘Junior Maths Challenge.’

The students are selected from top set Year 7 and 8 classes by their teacher.

It is a multiple choice paper and the students are competing to achieve bronze, silver or gold certificates. If they achieve gold they get through to the next round of the competition.

The Mathematical Challenges aim to stimulate mathematical problem solving.

The Junior Challenge is aimed at students in Year 8 or below. It is the UK’s most popular mathematics competition with over 300 000 students taking part each year.
