Sixth Form Council Celebrates Fundraising Success

Sixth Form students from St Benedict’s have started the new school year by celebrating some of their fundraising achievements from last year.

Through their first fundraising event before summer, the students raised £118 for both The Jo Cox Foundation, and Alzheimer’s Society.

Money was raised through a Cake Sale held in school, where both students and teachers bought the cakes that Sixth Form students had made at home.

Students were also awarded £475 from the previous Sixth Form Council. This was through funds raised for their Prom, which were used as a deposit on the venue. This money was then also split between the two charities.

The Sixth Form Council organise various events throughout the year to raise money for charities and also to help fund events, such as their Prom.

There is a Macmillan Coffee morning coming up later in September, and Pink & Blue Day in October which raises funds for both Prostate and Breast Cancer charities.

Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for details of upcoming fundraising events.
