Shoebox Appeal 2018

The deadline for collecting your shoeboxes is Wednesday 31st October.

This year we have launched an appeal for shoebox gifts for children who live in extreme poverty. We would like as many students and staff as possible to pack a shoebox for a child.

The shoeboxes are going to be sent out to Romania through a local charity set up in Workington called Convoy Aid Romania. Although Romania is in the EU many families live in extreme poverty.

The deadline for collecting the shoeboxes is Wednesday 31st October.

As a Catholic school it is important we look after people most in need. We are called by Jesus to love. What greater way to show love than to changes a child’s Christmas.

What do we do?

  • Pack at shoebox with items from the list.
  • Wrap it up so it looks nice.
  • Make sure it has a sign on it to say if it is for a boy or a girl and the approximate age of the child it should be given to.
  • Bring it into school and give it to your form tutor or Mrs Rush.
  • It will then be taken to the leader of the project and driven out to Romania ready for Christmas.
