Senior Maths Challenge success for students

A group of our Sixth Form students have recently enjoyed a really successful session in a national maths competition.

On Tuesday 7th November 42 of our Year 12 and 13 mathematicians completed the Senior Maths Challenge.

The Senior Challenge is aimed at students in Year 13 or below with the mathematical challenges aiming to stimulate mathematical problem solving.

Between them they have achieved two gold, four silver and seven bronze certificates, as listed below:

Year 13

Daniel Stewart – Gold

Cameron Bowskill – Gold

Liam Clarkson – Silver

Kane Harper – Silver

Olivia McGlennon – Bronze

Amy Fox – Bronze

Lewis Hamilton – Bronze

Caitlin Winrow – Bronze

Year 12

Joseph Brennan – Silver

Liam Campbell – Silver

Aaron Soriano – Bronze

Niamh Ross – Bronze

Alex Sharpe – Bronze

Year 13 student, Daniel Stewart scored the highest and qualified for the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1, which is a fantastic achievement.

Cameron Bowskill and Joseph Brennan also did very well and qualified for the Senior Kangaroo, which is the next round of the competition.
