Throughout October and November St Benedict’s students have been in competition collecting as much food as they could in their tutor groups to be donated to the North Lakes Foodbank. The Foodbank helps individuals and families in crisis through the provision of emergency food supplies.
The competition began in October when students in Year 8 delivered an assembly telling the rest of the school about the work of the Foodbank.
The collections then commenced and ran for a month between October and November. Year 7 Josephine and 6th Form Seacole won the competition, and overall students collected a huge amount of food for the donation.
This week volunteers from the Foodbank came to collect all of the food we had managed to gather over the past month.
Students in Year 7 handed over the food alongside Chaplain Richard Teasdale. The Foodbank were very appreciative of the donations and wanted to thank everyone who donated and helped with the collection.
