We’ve had two groups of students visit Newcastle University this past week.
First up was Year 7, who travelled to Newcastle on Thursday 27th February.
Twenty Eight students enjoyed the day trip to the ‘Univenture’ event which aims to introduce Year 7 students to Higher Education and all it has to offer.
The day consisted of a number of different fun, engaging and creative activities which aimed to get students to think about different skills that can be used in certain degrees and the career paths that they lead to. The students also got to tour campus through an orienteering quiz treasure hunt which meant they could see the facilities on offer.
Mrs Young said:
“The students seem to have thoroughly enjoyed their day out at Newcastle University. They’ve been a credit to the school; their engagement in all of the activities and their behaviour throughout the day has been exemplary.”
“I hope they’ve gone away from today thinking about what their futures could hold and the possibilities of Higher Education when the time eventually comes to leave St Benedict’s.”
Following on from that, a group of students from Year 10 visited the university on Monday 2nd March.
Year 10 were visiting the ‘Aspirational Campus Experience” at Newcastle University.
