Letter from the Acting Headteacher

Dear Parents / Carers

As I am sure you are aware we are now looking forward to moving into our new school buildings in January.
We had originally hoped to be able to move earlier than this and had planned to do this with minimal
disruption to the normal running of the school.

Unfortunately, the change in moving date means that we will need to close the school to students on four
additional days around the Christmas holidays to facilitate the move. In addition to the school holidays
already published the school will also be closed on Wednesday 19th December 2018, Thursday 20th
December 2018, Monday 7th January 2019 and Tuesday 8th January 2019. These days will allow the staff
to ensure that the school is ready for the students to benefit from the brand new, purpose built, facilities
on Wednesday 9th January 2019.

To confirm, school will close at 3.25pm on Tuesday 18th December and the Spring Term will start at 8.40am
on Wednesday 9th January 2019.

I apologise for the short notice of this; however the local authority, Cumbria County Council, have only this
week given us permission for these additional closure days which are essential for us to move to the new
buildings.

Yours faithfully

Mr S Bridgman

Acting Headteacher
