Letter from Mrs Jackson & Mrs Hannan

Dear Parents, Carers and Students

It is with extreme regret and disappointment that we have decided to cancel our Prom on the 20th March.  This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but it is one that cannot be avoided.  We have considered alternative dates, but sadly, our endeavours have been in vain and we will not be able to re-arrange it.

We understand that for many of us, the Prom is the highlight of the year and we wanted to give you an incredible and well-deserved send off, just as we have done for previous years.  We know you will understand that the circumstances are out of our control, but that does not make it any easier.

We have though, been thinking of how you may be able to attend a prom in the future.  We anticipate that next Year, (2022), Year 13 will have their Prom.  It is our intention to send invitations to all ex-pupils who were in that year group to attend the Prom, and this will of course include you.  We do hope that this goes some way to alleviate the disappointment that we know you will be feeling.  We will be in touch next year with more information.

In order to process the reimbursement of the ticket money paid for the Prom that has been cancelled, please can you email bank details to laura.bell@st-benedicts.cumbria.sch.uk.  This needs to include the bank sort code, account number, name on the account and also the student’s name.  The refunds will be issued by the 31st March.

Yours faithfully

Emma Jackson                                                           Nathalie Hannan
