Forty seven students from Years 7 & 8 have recently taken part in a Junior Maths Challenge.
Students from St Benedict’s achieved 1 gold, 5 silvers and 10 bronzes in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. The students were presented with their certificates at this weeks achievement assemblies.
Over 250,000 pupils from across the UK sat the Junior Maths Challenge with roughly the top 6% receiving a gold certificate, the next 13% silver and the next 21% bronze.
Kai Savage from year 8 achieved the Gold Certificate and went on to compete in a follow-on competition, the Junior Maths Kangaroo.
The Junior Maths Challenge is run by the UK Mathematics Trust and supported by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. It is aimed at those in Years 7 & 8 and is sat in schools.
