The Link (SEN)

The Link Department is the base for all our special needs students. We value every individual and aim to meet their needs as best we can.

The team is made up of a full time SENCo, 2 HLTA’s and 5 STA’s

We work with students in a variety of settings: 1:1, small groups, specialist interventions (English, Maths and Social Skills), in the classroom and out of school settings.

The Link is open from 8.15 a.m. every day for discussion and homework. We are usually open at morning break for social time and at lunchtimes for 1:1 work, homework and reading.
On Tuesdays, we have our recently formed chess club which has already proven popular in the department.

We open after school each day until 4pm unless there is a scheduled department meeting. During this time we run homework, spelling, handwriting, dyslexia, GCSE support and Maths groups.

The Link consists of a teaching room, a Maths room, an SRA room and an office.

As a department, we actively encourage contact with parents and carers and always try to work together for the benefit of each student, thus reinforcing our school ethos; every student we work with reaches their full potential.

If you have any queries or would like to view our Link facilities, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs C Callaway on 01946 692275.
