Geography Teacher swims Wastwater for charity

We’d like to say a massive well done to our very own Mrs Lee, who before half term swam across Wastwater for charity.

Mrs Lee, who teaches Geography at our school, successfully completed the swim on Friday 26th May before the half term holiday.

The 1 mile open water swim was completed in order to raise money for the charity – CRCL – Tanzanian Link which Mrs Lee is involved with through her work at school.

The Cumbria-Rungwe Community Link was established in 1987 with the aim of linking two rural communities from West Cumbria in the UK and the Rungwe district in Tanzania. The principle objective is to promote awareness and understanding between what may appear to be two very different cultures. Through a process of experiencing something of each other’s lives they seek to promote friendship and a realisation of what people have in common.

A group of Tanzanians will be visiting St Benedict’s School later in the month, as part of the project.
