With the festive season fast approaching, the theme for this half term’s General RE day was based around Christmas, and what that entails from a faith point of view.
There were four activities going on during the day running in a carousel style, with the students taking part in all of them at some point.
Students made personalised Christmas cards which they will deliver to local care homes this week with our Lay Chaplain, Mr Teasdale.
Students also made Christmas baubles with Mrs Little reflecting upon what Christmas means to them and their Christmas promises.
With Mr Peck, students looked at Saint Nicholas, the real Santa Claus and his story.
And finally, with Miss Tomkinson students reflected upon the words of Christmas Carols and what the real meaning of Christmas is.
The day is a great time of formation and reflection for our students to think about what is really important and what really matters at this time of year.
Students will be visiting care homes this week delivering the Christmas cards they made and simply spending time with residents.
